Treasurer’s Report

Treasurer’s Report; The amount in the bank as at 11 Oct is £1589.42

Reports:

The Hustings meeting held on the 29 September in the Battlefield East Church Hall was chaired by Eric Canning and was the only meeting afforded the candidates and the public in the run up to the election. Pat Lally won a creditable number of votes from a very apathetic electorate and he is to be congratulated on the vigour with which he contended the seat. Charlie Gordon now represents the people of Cathcart in Holyrood.

The final review of NHS24 has been published and will be considered by a group of Forum members before the next meeting.

Two public meetings have been held by the GGNHS Board to consult with the public about the most suitable site for the new children’s hospital. It comes as no surprise that the recommendation to the Calder Group will be the Southern General campus - a plan conceived by the Board back in 1999 and shown on architectural drawings at that time.

The remainder of the evening was spent watching a video produced by the GGNHS Board in association with the Scottish Ambulance Service, and the NHSGG Community Engagement Team. The film entitled Emergency Ambulance Services in Greater Glasgow was handed to our secretary by a Forum member. The Forum was not sent a copy. According to the film there will not be a problem at rush hour, before or after a football match at Ibrox.. The ambulance will use an alternative route if need be.

DATE OF NEXT MEETING 8 NOVEMBER  at 7.30 p.m.

N.B.

Jackie Burman of CAB Scotland will attend this meeting and talk about CAB involvement in health matters and particularly complaints from members of the public about NHS.

The Forum is delighted to report that a grant has been authorised by East Renfrewshire Council and appreciates the action taken by Councillor Steele and the Community Services Dept.
