Contents
Apologies
Apologies were received from Eric Canning, Douglas McGregor, Dan McPhail, Pat Lally and Louise Lang. Minutes
The minutes of the 12th February were accepted as correct and the adoption proposed by James Sandeman. Matters Arising: The position on the Report on the BECAD was raised and David Smith replied that the delayed report was to be published on the 12th February. Three weeks later when the report had not been received, a further enquiry which include a request for an explanation for its delay had been sent, with no reply to date. South Monitoring GroupThe group was to meet on Friday 14th March. It was anticipated that a report on future bed numbers in Glasgow would be forthcoming. This would be recorded on a Pan Glasgow basis and would be prepared annually. There had been a rise in emergency admissions in Glasgow. The rise was likely to be in medical admissions, particularly in the older population. Emergency Surgical admissions were relatively steady, e.g. 8 to 9 per day at the Victoria Infirmary. The chairman expressed concern that while the North Monitoring Group had established that there were to be no service changes until new facilities were in place to accommodate patients, no such undertaking had been established at the South Monitoring Group. The expected completion date for the ACAD at the Victoria site remained at Spring 2009. The Monitoring Group were to be offered a tour of the new facilities. Treasurer’s Report.
The treasurer tabled a report. The current balance was £2233.82, showing a small surplus of income over expenditure (£167.85). A £50 subscription to the SHCN and £25 expenses were approved for payment before the financial year end on 31st March. Guest SpeakerLisa Hughes from the Bridgeton Citizens Advice Bureau was unavoidably delayed and her talk will be rescheduled. In a brief question and answer session she confirmed that the remit of the CAB in complaints was to assist in processing of a complaint. Citizens Advice Scotland was the umbrella advisory organisation. At present health related complaints were a small proportion of her work. She would elaborate on this when she spoke again.
